Heat oil in a large pan and fry the onions until lightly coloured |

Add the mince to the pan and brown |

Crumble in the stock cubes and add the Worcester sauce |

Add half pint of boiling water, flour and tomato ketchup and stir, simmer gently for 30 minutes or so |

Allow to cool for about 20 minutes |

Roll out the pasty on a floured board and use half to line a pie dish or flan tin |

Add the beef mixture and then use the remaining pastry to form a lid |

Seal the edges well and add a fork pattern if desired |

Brush the top with the beaten egg mix |
