Ok this is the cheats salmon an potato bake from a site I found it on haha here http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3262/potato-and-salmon-grill all kudos to da bee bee see thanks flower.
Ingredients
- 650g new potatoes, skin on, sliced lengthway
- 100g frozen peas
- 200g can salmon (we liked Glenryck’s medium red salmon)
- 200ml tub crème fraîche
- 100g mature cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
-
Tip – Give it a twist
This dish also works well with canned tuna.
Method
- To cook the veg, boil the potatoes in salted water for about 10 minutes until almost tender but not breaking up. Tip in the frozen peas and simmer for another 2- 3 minutes. Drain well then tip into a mixing bowl. Turn on the grill to high.
- Drain the salmon and flake it into chunks, then gently toss with the potatoes and peas. Season to taste with salt and pepper and spoon into a flameproof dish.
- Dollop the crème fraîche on top, roughly spread it over, and scatter with the cheese. Grill for a few minutes until bubbly and golden.
My idea for this is to obtain some propa fresh salmon or tuna and flake that into the potato in a casserole dish, add any veg you like such as broccoli or such instead of the peas and just cook a little longer if necessary. Then add garlic chopped into the dish also and maybe some herbs such as a little oregano or marjoram or basil or whatever you like. also to make it a little spicy some ginger and or a little chilli flakes or fresh chillies will be good ! Then I would put this in the oven with some milk added and bake it for about a half hour on 180. havta try it that way .
